"Tis Strong and Bright and True

This week we read about Lehi's vision in First Nephi. It made me think about visions. Lehi (a prophet!) started out in a dark and dreary wasteland and he was there for a long time. That always comforts me, strangely. It took him a long time to realize that you should pray when that is happening.  Pray when you're in a dark wasteland and the Lord can expand your view and help you see his love. I love that.

The kids had TWO MORE SNOW DAYS this week. And then, blessedly, they returned to school.  I have fun when they are here, but I get so much more accomplished when they are not.

There were themes to my best things every day this week:

1. Doing stuff even in the cold. Going to a shortened church, shoveling snow, a sunny cold walk with my love, going shopping for G and E because they are outgrowing so many clothes.

2. Hearing from my people. FaceTimes and phone calls from my grandchildren and my children. Podcast club. Book club. Some texts with friends I haven't seen in too long.

3. Feeling the spirit guide as I work on my calling. God totally cares about this work. I receive specific direction all the time.

4. Cleaning. It was mostly a best, but also a worst sometimes. Hahaha!

5. Dates and connecting with the people I live with. Hugging Eve when she was despairing or delighting. Being with Griff through headaches and euphoria. Warm food and Barbenheimer.  

Eve found this doll as we were organizing the storage room and gave her a makeover. I just love this stage of life. She is between to worlds.

No surprises here. KJ was pretty much my only friend on BeReal for most of the year. Luckily she is a good one!

Griff found this buffalo plaid lumberjack hat while we were shopping and needed it.
