O Ye Mountains High

The absolute highlight of the week was going to Utah to be with family. We had a Wimmer reunion at Bear Lake that was so good all of us wanted to do it again.

Where the clear blue sky arches over the fields and the plain. This is in Logan Canyon.

But I digress. Before we left some good things happened.

A dear sister in our ward who lost her husband this week made this history of the church in our area.

I made a fabulous vegan feast out of stuff in the fridge we needed to use.

We had a fun trip to the Learning Tree and considered owning a stuffed giraffe.

These are water lettuces floating in our pond. They reproduce vegetatively quite willingly.

The youngest cousins with the cast of New Sheriff in Town at the Pickleville Playhouse

 Highlights of the reunion were:

-The people! Hugging all my kids except Wyatt. Playing with Juliet and Buddy. Holding newborn Navy and Renlund Larsen. One on one visits with so many people I love.

-The places- Bear Lake is a gorgeous pristine blue. The house we stayed in was PERFECT for a reunion. Logan and Sardine Canyons are majestic. JoAnn Wimmer's house. Church in the Larsen's ward.

-The food and the fun. Angi fed everyone (about 60 people) royally. We played in the Lake. Willa took pictures of everyone. We went to a play. I did a short bit of aqua aerobics with Tracy and Anna, joined for small bits by Angi and Griff. Mariah cut Griffin's hair for me. We had a fabulous brunch at Herm's Inn. 

Small hiccups were:

-Dick and Amy being isolated from everyone because of COVID.

-JoAnn having pink eye and being so tired from all of the fun. I told her that is totally normal and happens to people who aren't even 91.

We are so lucky to have Willa and her skills! This photo reminds me of the last time we had a WWW reunion at Bear Lake, 25 years ago. James was a month old, like Navy was this time. Mariah and Eliza were two, like Juliet is this time. Actually, now I think of it, they must have been between Juliet and Buddy in age, since their birthday is in September.
