Thru Cloud and Sunshine

This week has felt a LOT better than last week. I don't know if it's because my hormonal roller coaster is headed up, because I have been trying to be better and not indulge in fear and worry and be more grateful and collect more of the golden moments to keep or if it is because I have spent more time outside or with friends or if it is because there wasn't an attempted coup d'etat this week, but it is better.

Here are some of the blessings this week:

The Fords- we missed our buddies so much while we were gone for a month!
FaceTime and texts- allow me to feel close across the miles
Great appliances- make it so much easier to cook.
Scriptures being opened- allow me to hear the things I need at the moment.
More time outside- does SO MUCH for my mood!
The gospel of peace- the whole message of Jesus Christ is such a comforting one!
The temple of my body- it is experiencing aging and the stuff of mortality, but it is a good one.
Afternoons with friends- a visit on Adirondak chairs on a sunny afternoon and a walk that froze my toes but warmed my heart
Meredith- I saw her on FaceTime where we had our own private book club!
Maria-She makes my house and my life so much better.
Alex- She is just wonderful AND she took such great family pics of Eliza's family!
Carrie- So good at gathering people and making good things happen.
Betsy- If I were picking teams, I would ALWAYS want her on mine.
Margaret- My grieving neighbor took time to compliment me on the leftovers I brought her.
Adrian and Miri- relentlessly making our house better with a smile.
Alan- my bestie.
Mariah- she texted me thrice and talked to Griff
Eliza- she shares houses and her baby with me via FaceTime
Willa- I love to talk to her as she walks! Her ideas and her love are brilliant.
Wyatt- I have missed our Friday 4pm calls. I just put a reminder on my phone.
Griffin- the source of so many ideas, so much emotion, and plenty of silliness
Eve- my buddy and jester. She feels like a bonus prize to me.
Evan- I can't even tell you how much I love him or how much I trust him with my daughter.
McCall- I've never known anyone who is so cool to be so kind.
Juliet--Aaaaaah!  Her cheeks and her legs! And her cute tiny smile!
Buddy- I still think of holding him when I want to feel peaceful.
My dad- He has really great eyebrows and gave them to me. I've been thankful for that this week.
My mother-in-law JoAnn- Can't wait for the time I can hug her legally again. I think about her and admire her so much more often than she knows.

Eve looked outside and said, "It looks like a snow globe!"

I have a good phone, but even this didn't capture the magic of this sunrise.

  1. What a great week with great blessings! I think you are right on all accounts as to why it was better and mostly the lack of coup d'etat. You have snow! It looks so fun. I love your fun pictures. I really like your sunrise picture but agree that they are very hard to capture appropriately in picture. They are just a super time of day.

  2. You have a gift for displaying the treasures of your life in the best light. Of course the people are the treasures! You finally convinced me of that when we were in our twenties. You are one of the best treasures of my life because of teaching moments like that. And this.

  4. Heather,

I love your blogs. Quite a few of your concerns, are mine also. You have
such a beautiful family -- I love the latest pictures you include. I wish
I was as technology proficient as you.

Paige called this a.m. That is always a lift. She admitted to having better
health in her current location! KJ was here in LGL w/ her Conlin and
Steed uncles and aunts on FRI evening. It was a happy gathering.

    love you and yours dearly,

    Dad N

  6. I agree with people being the blessings! People are my favorite. I love hearing about the people in your life and it warms my heart to hear how many of them are regulars. What would we do without our people?!

Also, your snow took my breath away! Winter is a blue time for me in general. Not enough direct light. In fact, I quit running for a few weeks until I admitted to myself and someone else that the reason I had told myself I wasn't running was lame: the sun was in the wrong position in the sky. (I think that's the biggest problem with winter: short days.)

    Sure love you!!!
