Our Costa Rica trip was awesome! We stayed a few days at Los Suenos, on the Pacific coast, near Herradura, and then went to an eco-resort in the mountains north of San Jose. Some favorites were:
-surfing lessons at Jaco Beach! Our driver spent a couple of years traveling Costa Rica and stopped traveling when he hit Jaco Beach. It was idyllic.
-swimming in a waterfall after the best ziplining ever.
-walks and walks and walks in gorgeous rainforests.
-having our own chef come to us and cook us breakfasts and an amazing dinner
-two random guys coming to pick us up in a golf cart as it started to rain on us.
-seeing rainforest succession. (I'm such a science nerd!)
-hot chocolate prepared for us every afternoon by the side of a river.
-playing the picture/sentence game for the first time with G and E
-making it home after our redeye flight was delayed for 5 hours and sleeping on airport floors and benches, right before being quarantined for leaving the country.
And here are some trip pictures in random order.

Del Toro waterfall. On Sundays, when they turn off the hydroelectric plant, it is 3 times this size.

El Silencio Waterfall

La Promesa waterfall

Del Toro, with a grumpy Griff.

Howler monkey, scolding us on the way down to the falls

This looks like a hotel advertisement photo, but Evie took it of the beach club.
I love the ziplining guides in Costa Rica. They are much less stuffy than in other places, constantly reassure you about how professional they are and let you go upside down!! Fun stuff! So glad you were able to slip in an awesome Spring Break before the world ends ;)
ReplyDeleteSorry you're in quarantine! And glad you get Willa back! Hooray for that!
Alan gets "best photo" of this post! Such wonderful photos of waterfalls, too. I thought El Silencio was a weird name for a water fall, but let's just go with it. Great trip, y'all.
ReplyDeleteLooks like an amazing trip and just the right thing to do when the world is going crazy. I love all the zip lining pictures and agree with Paige that Alan gets best photo! So fun! Glad you had a good time and glad you made it back.
ReplyDeleteDid you know I have a great fear of heights? Just looking at the pics of you zip lining made my stomach turn!! It was obvious none of you have that prob! What a great trip..xo momw
ReplyDeleteCosta Rica looks SO fun and beautiful! And I haven't seen hard evidence of Dad acting so goofy since probably his high school video days. Of course, he acts goofy all the time. Just nobody captures it for posterity.
ReplyDeleteGive Willa 20 little kisses for me!
