Sunshine in My Soul

Eve and Griff keep reminding me how I stole the100th day of school from them two years in a row by taking them to Hawaii. Now they are slightly miffed that we made them miss their school Valentine's party because we took them to Utah.  I am using it as a time to teach them about opportunity cost. I really think they keep getting the better deal. It's a better deal for me for sure!

1. Valentiney things: Alan and I went on a Valentine's date to Red Iguana and the temple where we were married, where we also caught up a bit with Dad and Marj, who were glowing and excited about their amazing Antarctic cruise.

2. Skiing things: We had two perfect days of skiing. Beautiful, sunshiney, idyllic days at Brighton where Griff and Eve got better and better and are getting good enough to ski a few blue runs with us. Wyatt took the second day off.

3. Family things: We saw Willa and Eliza Friday night at the condo, then played again with them when we went down to Provo, where we also magically ran into the Larsens at Guru's! Monday we had ALL our kids (minus McCall) at the condo for a great FHE and Mariah made my hair fabulous.

4. Friend things: We went to a BYU gymnastics meet with our dear friends from North Carolina, Anthony and Angie, who haven't aged hardly at all. It was crazy to see all our kids there and looking so big! Angie and Anthony just became grandparents and we will do the same in June.

 5. BYU things. We went to campus to get Wyatt a shirt since he got accepted (with a full ride scholarship) and might actually go there. We are cautiously hopeful.

6. Logan things: We went to church on Sunday with Mom Wimmer, which was such a treat, and then to a delicious dinner at the Larsens.  They are wonderful and amazing. Their kids are SO patient and good with Eve and Griff. I think that must be the result of some excellent parenting.

So they missed "heart day" at school. But it definitely did my heart good.
