Wyatt Wimmer reached his majority this week. He is 18 and already registered to vote and agreed to register for the draft on an official form. Today on our family walk I told him I dreaded him leaving us and asked if he didn't want to stay home and go to UMKC next year. He laughed and said, "You mean and not grow up?"I think that means he isn't going to do it.
I've had so much fun going through my pictures and remembering just how wonderful he has been his whole darn life.

| It was a struggle choosing just ONE picture of him in a college sweatshirt. |
To celebrate we had chicken tikka masala and homemade naan, followed by Dixie pie. I also ordered him a Chipotle burrito and took him on a date to Joe's KC BBQ and Barnes and Noble.
I think the best thing about Wyatt is his heart. He is so very good and wants to do the right thing for the right reasons. And he has such a peaceful presence. Hugging him always calms me. And his hair is pretty awesome too.
I love love love the trip through Wyatt's life through pictures! It would have been okay to post 6 pictures in college sweatshirts! The things you chose to write about that you love in him are just so so good. He is a wonderful calm presence to have around. And yes, the hair! THE HAIR!! I'm a sucker for great hair.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday this last week to Wyatt!!
Happy birthday to the most calm and reasonable little brother! Can't believe he's a real adult now. I can only hope he comes to BYU and hangs out with me and Willa all the time next year (tell him that, and tell him he better get his bum in motion on writing those essays!). Sometimes I realize I don't know him as well as I think I do, which is okay, but a little sad. I guess when you're 6 years apart you don't get to be as good of buddies as kids. But I know the important stuff! He's good, brilliant, funny, kind, easy, generous, and he can't quite beat me in scrabble.
ReplyDeleteApproval. Approval. Approval. I also love Wyatt. The selection of photos is just terrific. Do you know which places he has applied, or plans to?
