Evie Alive and Well

As I was searching my phone for illustrations of our week, I realized that I only got pictures of Eve this week. She had a great time in Branson, she gave a tour of our house, and she is one of the cutest little skinny six year olds ever. 

Evie still says "persons" instead of "people" and was the best to watch a magic show with on Thursday night. Her face showed her wonder wonderfully. It started late, and she was the only one who voted to stay at intermission because we were getting tired.

Here's the rundown on Branson, which we had never done before:

-Hamner's Unbelievable Variety Show-magic! birds! dancing! singing! Eve found brochures after we saw it and wanted to keep them.

-Hotel: on the Landing by the White River. Beautiful setting, locally hired help.

-Fish House on the White River: better atmosphere than food.

-Farm House Cafe: Delicious country breakfast.

-Dicks 5 and 10: A giant, nostalgic wonderland. We loved the toys and vintage candy.

-Amazing Pet Show: didn't run, so we mini-golfed for free because the lady felt bad for us and liked Evie. It was fun.

-Swimming: nearly always our favorite part.

-Billy Bob's burgers: amazing!

-Fritz' Adventures: Indoor high ropes and rock climbing place. We LOVED it and stayed for hours.

-Dolly Parton's Stampede dinner show: Everything you'd imagine! Horses! A chicken on every plate! LED lit costumes! Pig races and down home comedy! Glitz and patriotism all very well done.

Another fun thing about Evie was seeing her overcome her fear of the high ropes course. Eve and Griff were both so very close to the 48 inch cutoff for doing the big course that the employees let them in. But Evie was so terrified she was crying and trembling. I stayed with her and showed her how the harness would hold her, and she slowly got used to the easier things. We left the course before everyone else because she needed to potty, but later in the day we were looking up at the zip line and saw blond hair flying and purple skinny pants whizzing towards the finish. Alan asked, "Is that Evie?!" She went back to the ropes course WITHOUT us--without even telling us, and rocked it for another hour. She said she was still scared, but she just got better at keeping herself from screaming.

I found a tour of our house ended up mysteriously on my phone.

I had just a few other things from my week that deserve mentioning but not a whole other post:

-new rug! I'm pleased.
-funeral for Maddy Bryce, age 24. It was heartbreaking but sweet. So glad I could be there to support my friend Kari.
-a lovely testimony meeting. Alan spoke about finding testimony through doing--experimenting on the word. I spoke about God's love for us (Maddy's family were gifted an amazing, full double rainbow on a bright yellow, then purple sky after a full 24 hours of rain) and sustaining our leaders by looking for evidence that God is directing their work. Many good friends bore testimony of the Holy Ghost and God's love.
