The Goose is Getting Fat

Christmas is coming!  We don't know about the geese, but we are having fun with the anticipation.  So much to look forward to!

Best things we have already done:

-WILLA home!!!  She is just fun. We did our nails together and loved hanging out all week before the kids got done with school.

-DONE with school for 2018.  Hooray!

-Gingerbread houses.  Not our usual tradition, but we relied on Mely for gingerbread and had a great FHE.

-Evie did the Lancer Dancer clinic.  Watching her love performing with them was possibly the best part of my week.  I finally got a dancer who loves it as much as I did!

-Finished shopping.  Except for silly things I forgot, like bread and sandwich bags, I am just through shopping I think.

-Nutcracker. They loved the building more than the performance.  Even with lavish new set design, beautiful new staging, choreography and costumes, and everyone all fancy, it's hard to actually sit through it if you're 6.

-Christmas Sabbath. We had a wonderful service today with beautiful music and thoughtful, wonderful talks with people we love.

I have no idea what they were doing, but they are cute together.

"It was a great time making these Gingerbread houses like a camping cabin!"- Griff

"I thought it was a little funny when Willa stuck a candy on my cheek!" - Evie

"I had a great time dancing with the Lancer Dancers and the snacks were sooo great!"--Evie

Best things we are looking forward to:

-MARIAH!  And ELIZA! And MAC and EVAN!!!  They are due here any second!!!!

-Christmas Eve! Christmas Day! Tamales! The Plaza lights! Presents! Singing together!

-New Years in Utah! Skiing!  Family!  Fun!

-Maybe one day having a house that isn't shrouded in plastic and drywall dust. In all fairness to my contractor, he worked his tail off for us this week, but we are still in a state of impossible to use.

  1. So much fun and good! ...except for the unfinished construction. It’s nice that they worked hard this week though. We love gingerbread houses and think it’s a great tradition. So glad you got in quality Willa time. I admire you for taking the littles to the Nutcracker. I did that with Lilly when she was that size and just remember it being long for both of us, though very pretty. It has curbed me from doing it since then.
I hope the married kids arrived safely and you guys have a splendid Christmas!

  2. What a great family activity doing gingerbread houses. That's something the big kids and the little kids can love together. Willa and Wyatt are such INDIVIDUALS yet they go so well together (probably not as a team -- maybe more like bookends.) I love seeing your beautiful face in the photos now and then. Did you and Griff go shopping together for his shirt and your skirt? I'm glad you also remembered the truth about naps. Naps good. No naps mean tears. Good luck with the last leg of the remodel. Sounds like it will actually end sometime. Yay!

  3. What a great prelude to Christmas you had! Your littles are getting to be biggers. Very sweet to see how your children love and enjoy each other. I know every little minute isn't like that, but those are definitely the times that make everything worth it, house upturned and all. It's going to be hard for me to stay in Nevada when I know you are just a car ride away in Utah - AND I need to give you Mom's liquid silver necklace.

  4. I loved getting caught up on your Christmas activities!! Glad that you were all able to be together. Neat about Willa attending the U, our granddaughter, Mikayla is also there and loving every minute!
We all got together too!! Fun, fun!! Lilly was in a play, "The Adams Family". We enjoyed seeing her. She was the one in the marvelous hat because the lights made her red hair blaze forth.
If you ever get a call from Clint Sessions or Simmons, that's me!! Please answer the call!
    I love you all dearly!!
