This was a hard week. We were all working on recovering from Spring break. There was lots of whining and crying and feeling so, so tired. But even so, there were some really great blessings. One of the best things about blogging is that I get to sort through them and record my favorites.
-Preschool. I love that I get to have some free time while my little kids get to go hang out with people they really like and have fun. It is a double blessing that their teachers are my friends.
-Mr. and Mrs. Duck are back! The lighting is terrible, but we had to get the net off quickly because they've been swimming in our pond every morning. We so hope they nest here again!
- Some days of playing at the park and enjoying the fine spring weather. I wish I had the talent to show the beauty of the very first spring leaves (such an amazing color of green!) and flowers on the trees (best idea ever!). I never can take in enough with one frame, and our light has been a bit dim and gray most days this week. It is my favorite thing to witness every year though, even against a gray background. And the gray means we got rain this week, which is a really great thing. I love spring!
-Friends. We had lunch bunch at our house this week and I, as usual, invited a couple of extra friends. It makes it a little overwhelming, but it's also so much fun. Willa and I also got some friend time with the Bennion girls when we went to dinner and watched the women's broadcast with them. We have been blessed with excellent friends.

-This guy. Alan turned 49 on Tuesday. And he was happy to do the same thing this year that he did last year: dinner at home (we even had almost the same menu) and a family party. It was really fun to prepare a party with two little ones who were so excited about it. Griffin was especially excited about giving him presents and decorating. I am especially thankful to JoAnn Wimmer for giving birth to my best friend and raising him to be so good and valiant. He is just the best.

-These ladies are my neighbors. Elaine is 101 and her daughter Margaret is in her mid 60's. They, and many other people around us, make it easy to keep the second great commandment.
Your babies are definitely getting to be kids and not toddlers. It's fun to watch them grow and a little sad too. I'm excited about your ducks! How fun to have ducks nesting in your pond. Happy Birthday to your Alan. I was going to ask you what you were going to do for his birthday, but couldn't hear you well enough...I guess we never reconnected either. Shoot.
ReplyDeleteAlan looks positively somber on his birthday. What gives? I've cream and sweet people should have a different effect. I agree you got a good one there, though, somber or not. I'm also in agreement about ducks. Flowers. Buds of all kinds. Those on trees and those who visit your house.
