It's a little hard to believe, but this super fabulous boy is 14 now! We celebrated his birthday with Grandma Wimmer, who came Thursday night and stayed all weekend with us.
The first thing we did was get bagels and hang out at the DMV for a while. We met with success! Now he is legal to learn driving!
We came home and shared our bagels, then went on a shopping trip for birthday presents. We spent our time at Gap and Barnes and Noble, where we found a complete outfit and two books with great efficiency, especially considering our help.
We came home and made our own sandwiches for lunch, rested a while, and then Alan got home from work early. We measured everyone's height (he's got less than an inch before he overtakes his Dad). We picked up Libby to babysit the littles and then went to Waldo Pizza for dinner and Ward Parkway Theater for an early show of The Martian. It was really fun!
Today after church Wyatt was ordained a teacher by his dad. It was a special treat to have Grandma Wimmer here for every speck of celebration. We loved it all!

We ended our night with a cookies and cream ice cream cake and some quiet singing so we wouldn't wake Griffin and Eve. It was a great birthday!

ReplyDeleteI wondered how I missed this! And then I realized that the words were all familiar, but I hadn't seen the pictures. I saw this on my phone one day and the pictures didn't load. Such a great report - and even better with the pictures! Happy Birthday, Wyatt. 14 is such a bigger deal in Kansas, getting to learn to drive and all. How exciting!!
