For New Year's we did something new: we went to someplace COLDER!
We started out in Ann Arbor and had a great time visiting in our old ward. I hugged some dear friends, enjoyed the talks and music immensely, and was so grateful to friends who took Griff on a long walk during Sunday School (Sondra) and let us try out nursery for the first time (Linda)--even letting me slip away to hear the Dean of UM's business school bear testimony of tithing in Relief Society. And we got to eat dinner and hang out with our dear friends Jill and Colter and their beautiful kids. It was wonderful!
Then we went to Detroit (well, Dearborn) for the main event of New Year's Eve: Natalie's wedding! Everything was just perfect.
We left in a snowstorm that delayed our flight long enough to let our babies nap in a movie theater while we watched "Frozen" together. Strangely, when we got back to our "no place like home", it was even colder in Kansas! We even had a snow day from church today and the kids will miss school tomorrow, so we get an extra day of vacation except for our two BYU coeds, who left us during a break in the storm this afternoon. We miss them already and are grateful to (and a little jealous of) Uncle Joel who picked them up at the airport to take them home.
