Michigan's motto, we learned when our twins were in elementary school, is a strange but true thing to put in latin on a flag: "If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you." We just got back from the lower one. It was wonderful.
We drove to Michael and Karen's house first, where we hugged, ate pizza, gave Willa highlights to match her auntie, and went on a walk to the school playground.
Aren't they cute?
The next morning, we went to church in Ann Arbor, where we still know and love plenty of people. We stole one of them and took her with us camping at our favorite beach.
Mariah and Eliza were overjoyed to be reunited with Hannah.
This is the girls running down the dunes. You can see the beach in the background. We think this is one of the best places on earth.

Fun vacation! Anything that involves Karen couldn't be anything less than fun. I bet everyone from your old ward loved seeing you at church. Did it tug at your heart strings?

ReplyDeleteWhere in Michigan is that? We would love to take a little jaunt north one of these days. What should we see and do? I am sad that we missed you when we were both driving in opposite directions. Looks like you had a great time in Michigan.

There's not a lot there but the beach, but it is a wonderful beach. We like to camp there (alcohol is banned, so it is very family friendly) and go to the programs the park puts on, which are really well done.
